● Improve care and access for people with diabetes, obesity and other metabolic disorders.
● Improve the lives of Endocrinologists, Advanced Practitioners, Diabetes Educators, and other professionals who care for people with diabetes, obesity and other metabolic disorders.
● Expand office locations.
● Create the nation’s leading Metabolic Care Management Data Center.
● Succeed in Value Based Care contracts.
- Greet patients with warmth and professionalism upon arrival.
- Complete patient check-in and check-out processes, including collection of co-pays and patient signatures as needed.
- Provide patients with necessary forms and instructions for visits or procedures.
- Assist patients with scheduling follow-up visits or specialty referrals at time of check-out.
Phones & Scheduling
- Answer multi-line phones promptly and professionally, directing calls appropriately.
- Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments using the EHR/practice management system.
- Provide appointment reminders and patient instructions for upcoming visits.
Clinical Support
- This role does not perform clinical duties but may relay non-clinical messages between patients and medical staff as appropriate.
Data & Metrics
- Accurately collect and update patient demographics and contact information at each visit.
- Ensure patient records are complete and accurate for billing and communication purposes.
Compliance Support
- Verify insurance coverage and eligibility prior to appointments.
- Inform patients of any coverage issues or financial responsibilities in advance of service.
Supplies & Vendors
- Maintain inventory of front desk supplies (e.g., forms, pens, badges).
- Place orders as needed and ensure materials are available for daily operations.
Staff & Culture
- Serve as a welcoming point of contact for job candidates and visiting staff.
- Assist with onboarding preparation and coordination for new hires when needed.
Projects & Initiatives
- Support planning and logistics for patient-facing events, such as health fairs, flu clinics, or wellness days.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives as assigned by leadership.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or completion of administrative/medical office training program preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare front office or customer service setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
- Proficient with electronic health records and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain composure in a busy environment.
- This position operates in a clinical office environment.
- Frequent interaction with patients, staff, and providers.
- May involve occasional evening or weekend events.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods.
- Requires frequent communication via telephone and in person.
- Occasional lifting of materials up to 25 pounds.
