Branch Manager

ACE Equipment Leasing, Sales & Service              

 

Reports To: General Manager / President

Position Summary

The Branch Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operational leadership of ACE Equipment’s dealership location, ensuring efficient execution across service, parts, rental, and facility operations. This role focuses on operational excellence, safety, team leadership, and delivering a best-in-class customer experience. Working closely with the GM and corporate leadership, the Branch Manager ensures the dealership meets operational targets, maintains high quality and safety standards, and provides strong support for sales and customer activity.

 

Key Responsibilities

I. Operational Execution & Process Discipline

  • Daily Operations Oversight: Lead the day-to-day operations of the service, parts, and rental functions to ensure smooth workflow, minimal downtime, and efficient customer service.
  • Service Operations: Ensure repair jobs are scheduled, executed, and closed efficiently. Drive improvements in technician utilization, labor efficiency (billed vs. worked hours), and turnaround time (dwell rate).
  • Parts & Inventory: Oversee parts department operations including ordering, stocking, and issuing parts to internal and external customers. Monitor inventory accuracy and turnover, minimizing obsolescence and stockouts.
  • Rental Fleet Execution: Coordinate the preparation, maintenance, dispatch, and return of rental fleet assets to maximize uptime and utilization.
  • Facility Management: Maintain a clean, safe, and professional facility that reflects the Hi-Vac and ACE brand standards. Oversee maintenance, security, and appearance of the site.

II. Team Leadership & Development

  • Frontline Leadership: Supervise service technicians, parts personnel, rental coordinators, and administrative staff. Provide clear direction, coaching, and performance feedback.
  • Hiring & Training: Support hiring, onboarding, and training of frontline team members, ensuring adherence to standard work processes and safety protocols.
  • Performance Management: Set clear performance expectations, track KPIs, conduct regular reviews, and address gaps through coaching and accountability.
  • Culture: Foster a positive, safe, and customer-focused culture built on teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.

III. Safety, Quality & Compliance

  • Safety Leadership: Champion a safe work environment by enforcing OSHA, DOT, and company safety standards. Lead daily/weekly safety huddles and monitor compliance.
  • Quality Control: Ensure service and rental equipment meet quality and operational standards before release to customers. Monitor rework rates and corrective actions.
  • Compliance: Maintain adherence to all local, state, and federal regulations as well as internal company policies.

IV. Customer Service & Support 

  • Customer Experience: Ensure customers receive prompt, professional, and accurate service across all operational touchpoints.
  • Issue Resolution: Handle escalated operational issues quickly and professionally to maintain customer trust.
  • Sales Support: Partner with sales to support equipment deliveries, demonstrations, and field events, ensuring operational readiness and follow-through.

V. Operational Performance & Reporting

  • KPI Monitoring: Track and report daily and weekly operational KPIs such as technician utilization, service backlog, rental utilization, parts fill rate, and safety metrics.
  • Cost Control: Manage controllable expenses (labor, supplies, maintenance) to meet budget targets.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in workflow, scheduling, and communication to enhance throughput and customer satisfaction.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: 5–7 years of operational leadership experience within a heavy equipment, automotive, or similar dealership environment.
  • Technical Knowledge: Working knowledge of equipment service processes, parts operations, rental management, and dealership systems (DMS/CRM).
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead frontline teams, set clear expectations, and drive performance in a fast-paced environment.
  • Safety & Compliance: Familiarity with OSHA and DOT regulations and hands-on experience enforcing operational safety standards.
  • Education: Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent operational management experience.
