Position Summary
The Electronics Supervisor leads production and planning for Electronics, safely delivering quality products on time to both external and internal stakeholders so that we can delight our customers. The Electronics Supervisor ensures that our values of safety and quality remain paramount as we also deliver performance with respect to delivery and cost. Scope includes direct leadership of the assigned production and planning team members, crafting and execution of the production schedule, and management of associated equipment and supplies. The Electronics Supervisor must ensure clarity, alignment, and accountability around key performance indicators. The Production Supervisor must also drive behaviors into our MRP system (ALERE), making the system our single source of truth.
This is a hands-on leadership role. To be successful, the candidate must be happy and comfortable executing work through others – both directly through Assemby Associates, Leads and Technicans, as well as managing workloads and schedules indirectly through working hourly Leads. This involves setting the tone and pace for the team, establishing, measuring and reporting on priorities, giving feedback, and driving to constantly exceed our customers’ expectations of delivery and quality.
The Electronics Supervisor reports directly to the Operations Director.
Essential Functions
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the following essential functions:
- Always adhere to AlpHa’s Core Values.
- Directly manage the area’s personnel (time, attendance, and discipline). Hire, train, develop and evaluate staff, documenting their progress over time.
- Ensure quality work, stopping the process if something is not right, and contributing to our established quality processes.
- Direct daily tactical production execution by establishing priorities, scheduling work (via the Production Planner) and assigning personnel.
- Maintain visible metrics to provide timely and accurate performance information.
- Enable a system-disciplined culture by directing all applicable transactions into the MRP system (ALERE), facilitating the system as the single source of truth. Ensure work orders are generated, correct, and executed per commitments; ensure WO transactions and WO promise date updates are timely and accurate to communicate order status and shipment expectations.
- Ensure inventory accuracy of all material assigned to the area, ensuring cycle counts are conducted per published procedures.
- Lead with a continual improvement mindset, offering ideas as appropriate and participating in improvement projects.
- Assist with creating and refining standardized documented work instructions; conduct and document training of team members on approved work instructions.
- Maintain a safe work area.
- Perform other duties as required and assigned; duties and activities may change over time.
Key Competencies of the Role (per Lominger framework)

- Problem Solving – uses rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions; probes all fruitful sources for answers; can see hidden problems; is excellent at honest analysis; looks beyond the obvious and doesn't stop at the first answers.
- Managing Through Systems – ensures timely and accurate transactions to enable the business system as the single source of truth.
- Motivating Others – creates a climate in which people want to do their best; can motivate many kinds of direct reports and team or project members; makes each individual feel his/her work is important; is someone people like working for and with.
- Creativity – comes up with a lot of new and unique ideas; easily makes connections among previously unrelated notions; tends to be seen as original and value-added in brainstorming settings.
