Inside the Role
Within Daimler Truck North America, the Product Validation Engineering (PVE) Department is responsible for all component and system level validation to ensure our products lead the industry in reliability and support the lowest ‘Total Cost of Ownership’ objectives for our customers. PVE Business Operations is a multi-faceted department responsible for developing, planning, and assembling test trucks; procuring and fabricating test parts; managing test facilities; and planning/controlling the overall department budget.The Financial Cost Control Analyst II is responsible for driving strategic financial planning, cost control, and process optimization across multiple departments and projects. This role supports budget lifecycle management, facilitates cross-functional collaboration, and enhances financial reporting and tool functionality. The analyst plays a key role in aligning budgets with organizational goals, identifying risks, and supporting executive decision-making.

Position offers a starting salary range of $71,000.00 - $81,000.00 USD
Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience

What You Drive at DTNA
- Coordinate budget reviews and planning for 17 managers across current and future projects, managing ~$30M in project expenses bi-annually.
- Analyze labor planning against headcount, identify risks, and report mitigation strategies to executive leadership.
- Track and report deviations from project budget, headcount and CapEx targets
- Provide financial analysis support for PVE contracts, working closely with GIP to manage contract deadlines. Support RFQ/RFP process.
- Support budget consolidation during FC03 and FC09/BP planning cycles.
- Create/support dashboards and reports to executive leadership (Mission Control Board)
- Plan and support execution on annual CapEx requests (~$4M), ensuring alignment with financial targets and reporting status to leadership.
- Support testing and implementation of new finance and EPM tools (e.g., BEAM, Regrello).
- Collaborate with IT to enhance the PVE Portal.
- Create and present budget status reports to project planners, identifying cost center trade-offs and budget risks.
- Lead continuous improvement activities to help move the department toward “Blue-Sky” goals
- Create Purchase Requisitions/Goods Receipts as needed
- Support miscellaneous and ad-hoc requests
Knowledge You Should Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management (or related discipline) and one year of related experience OR, Associate’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management (or related discipline) and three years of related experience OR, five years of experience in finance, financial planning, cost controlling, or project finance in lieu of degree.
- Strong analytical skills with experience managing multi-million dollar budgets.
- Proficiency in financial systems and tools (e.g., cbfc, Excel).
- Experience leading cross-functional workshops and driving process improvements.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for executive-level reporting.
- Familiarity with Agile or Lean methodologies (e.g., Kanban).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across teams.
