About the Role

Centennial Diagnostics is seeking a Laboratory Accessioning Supervisor to oversee and support our specimen accessioning team. This role is responsible for supervising staff, coordinating daily activities, ensuring a safe working environment, and maintaining accurate inventory and documentation. The Accessioning Supervisor also provides training, re-education when needed, and ensures compliance with laboratory standards and organizational policies.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule and supervise accessioning staff, ensuring daily operations run smoothly
  • Register and process blood, urine, nasal swab, and stool specimens in the LIS system
  • Monitor workflow and assign additional duties during downtime
  • Maintain compliance with safety standards and organizational policies
  • Support onboarding, annual training, and documentation for new hires
  • Provide coaching, retraining, and support to staff as needed
  • Ensure accurate communication between laboratory teams and leadership
  • Promote a culture of safety and excellent customer service

Qualifications

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Typing speed of 25–30 WPM
  • Strong computer data entry skills
  • Basic knowledge of laboratory terminology
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow regulatory standards

Physical & Environmental Requirements

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and computer data entry
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Exposure to biohazardous waste, blood/body fluids, and communicable diseases in a laboratory setting
