About the Role
Centennial Diagnostics is seeking a Laboratory Accessioning Supervisor to oversee and support our specimen accessioning team. This role is responsible for supervising staff, coordinating daily activities, ensuring a safe working environment, and maintaining accurate inventory and documentation. The Accessioning Supervisor also provides training, re-education when needed, and ensures compliance with laboratory standards and organizational policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule and supervise accessioning staff, ensuring daily operations run smoothly
- Register and process blood, urine, nasal swab, and stool specimens in the LIS system
- Monitor workflow and assign additional duties during downtime
- Maintain compliance with safety standards and organizational policies
- Support onboarding, annual training, and documentation for new hires
- Provide coaching, retraining, and support to staff as needed
- Ensure accurate communication between laboratory teams and leadership
- Promote a culture of safety and excellent customer service
Qualifications
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent (required)
- Typing speed of 25–30 WPM
- Strong computer data entry skills
- Basic knowledge of laboratory terminology
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow regulatory standards
Physical & Environmental Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and computer data entry
- Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Exposure to biohazardous waste, blood/body fluids, and communicable diseases in a laboratory setting
