Lambda, The Superintelligence Cloud, builds Gigawatt-scale AI Factories for Training and Inference. Lambda’s mission is to make compute as ubiquitous as electricity and give every person access to artificial intelligence. One person, one GPU.
If you'd like to build the world's best deep learning cloud, join us.
*Note: This position requires presence in our San Francisco/San Jose locations 4 days per week; Lambda’s designated work from home day is currently Tuesday.
We seek a strategic, collaborative Design Insights Analyst to help shape the future of our products by building a deep, ongoing understanding of our customers. Sitting at the intersection of product management, UX research, customer experience (CX) design, and design strategy, this role is responsible for leading insight-driven initiatives that directly influence what we build—and why. You’ll work cross-functionally with stakeholders across product, design, marketing, sales, customer success, and directly with key customers to derive the insights that inform our most critical decisions.
As the first Insights hire for the Design team, you will be foundational in leading both our organization and the broader company toward insight-driven development—connecting customer needs to design and product strategy through rigor, empathy, and clear storytelling. This role is central to helping Lambda build the right products by first building the right understanding.
What You’ll Do:
Lead end-to-end research and insights programs that uncover customer needs, pain points, and emerging opportunities across the user journey
Act as the connective tissue across teams—synthesizing customer feedback, stakeholder goals, and market dynamics into clear, actionable insights
Build and operationalize a scalable insights infrastructure—creating systems for continuous feedback from users, prospects, and internal teams
Facilitate direct conversations with key customers to validate ideas, surface unmet needs, and strengthen our innovation roadmap
Partner with product managers and product designers to prioritize research and align on experience outcomes
Collaborate with sales, customer success, and marketing teams to identify insight gaps and support enablement efforts with user-centered narratives
Help define and evolve our customer understanding framework—personas, journey maps, experience principles, etc.
Drive strategic alignment by presenting insights clearly to executives and cross-functional teams, always with a focus on impact
You:
Are a systems thinker and empathetic listener who thrives on connecting the dots between user needs and business strategy
Have experience leading complex research projects and building scalable insight programs from the ground up
Are just as comfortable in a customer interview as you are synthesizing data for a C-suite presentation
Value collaboration and clarity—working well with product, design, sales, and leadership to drive unified direction
Excel at turning ambiguity into structured inquiry, and insight into strategic direction
Are curious, humble, and passionate about improving how teams understand and build for their users
Requirements
6+ years of experience in UX research, product strategy, service design, customer insights, or a hybrid role that spans these areas
Strong portfolio or case studies demonstrating strategic insight work that led to product or design decisions
Experience working cross-functionally with product, engineering, design, marketing, sales, and customer success teams
Proficiency in both qualitative and quantitative research methods (e.g., interviews, usability testing, surveys, segmentation, analytics, win/loss)
Familiarity with tools like Dovetail, Figma, Notion, Looker, Salesforce, Heap, or equivalent research, design, and analytics platforms
Excellent communication skills and the ability to distill and present insights in a compelling, executive-ready narrative
Strong understanding of product development cycles, design processes, and the importance of aligning business, user, and technical needs
A track record of influencing product roadmaps through research and insights in fast-moving environments
Nice to Have
Degree in HCI, Cognitive Psychology, Design Strategy, Business, or a related field preferred but not required
Experience with enterprise or B2B product development, especially in ML, AI, or cloud infrastructure tools
Background in design strategy, CX, or service design frameworks
Familiarity with AI tooling and how they affect user research workflows
Experience building customer advisory programs or embedded customer feedback loops
Understanding of the ML/AI model lifecycle—from data preparation and experimentation to deployment and monitoring
