Beckhoff Automation is seeking a driven, technically fluent Sales Engineer to lead growth in Florida, with emphasis on the Tampa/Sarasota area— a key territory with strong growth potential. In this role, you will blend deep technical insight with consultative sales skills to deliver innovative automation solutions and forge lasting technology partnerships with targeted customers.
You will own your territory — playing a critical role in developing and executing your territory strategy, generating new opportunities, and advancing Beckhoff’s vision of open automation. This is a high-impact position for a proactive, relationship-oriented professional excited to be a part of.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Customer Development
- Develop and execute territory strategy by targeting new accounts and expanding key customer relationships to drive scalable and sustainable growth
- Uncover and translate customer challenges into compelling Beckhoff automation solutions
- Generate and advance opportunities at new and existing customers across OEM, integrator, and end user accounts
- Develop and own a strong pipeline, drive system opportunities to close, and exceed growth targets
Territory Ownership & Strategic Planning
- Develop, own, and execute a strategic plan aligned with regional and national sales goals
- Leverage CRM data alongside market intelligence and customer insights to identify new opportunities, prioritize accounts, and support strategic decision-making
- Develop and implement a structured prospecting and new business development strategy to drive growth within the territory
- Represent Beckhoff at customer meetings, regional events, and industry trade shows
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Drive team-based selling with Application Engineers and Sales Coordinators to ensure successful customer outcomes
- Leverage Beckhoff’s product and industry experts to strengthen solution delivery
- Share customer feedback and market insight to inform product development and strategy
Operational Excellence
- Maintain pipeline accuracy and forecasting discipline in CRM
- Conduct comprehensive technical discovery, including solution design, BOM development, and proposal generation to align Beckhoff technologies with customer applications
- Demonstrate commercial excellence through disciplined execution of the sales process — qualifying opportunities, engaging multi-level stakeholders, understanding customer pain points, and articulating value-based solutions that drive business growth
- Maintain timely and professional communication through effective internal coordination

Work Location
This position follows a hybrid work model, providing flexibility to balance remote work with in-person engagement. As a field-based sales role, the Sales Engineer will regularly visit customer sites for meetings, technical support, and collaborative activities. The Beckhoff Orlando office is available as a resource for hosting customer trainings, events, and team collaboration as needed.
This approach ensures strong customer engagement and effective teamwork, balanced with work-life flexibility.
Travel
This position requires varying travel ranging from 20-30% which may include day trips, overnight stays, and occasional extended travel depending on business needs. Travel may be local, regional, or national. All travel-related expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with company policy. Qualifications
What We’re Looking For
- Strong communicator with a customer-first, consultative approach
- Proven success in technical sales — ideally in industrial automation
- Ability to think strategically and execute with urgency
- Self-starter who thrives in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business with technical experience
- 5+ years in a sales or customer-facing technical role preferred
- Must reside within the assigned territory
- Skilled in team-selling, aligning the right internal stakeholders at each stage of the sales cycle
