The Homer L. Dodge Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Oklahoma (OU) invites applications for full-time tenure-track/tenured Assistant/Associate faculty position in experimental Atomic, Molecular, and Optical (AMO) physics with a starting date of August 16, 2026 with a 1:1 teaching load. This position in fundamental research is associated with the Center for Quantum Research and Technology (CQRT) at OU. The CQRT (https://ou.edu/cqrt) is hosted in a state-of-the-art physics building with 18,000 square feet of laboratory space that meets NIST-A specifications on vibrations, temperature, humidity, and electromagnetic interference. Campus resources include cleanroom facilities and supercomputer access. 

Successful candidates are expected to teach effectively at both the undergraduate and graduate levels (one class per semester), maintain an outstanding record of original published research, and develop an internationally recognized, externally funded research program that complements and expands existing research efforts at OU on the following: Ultracold Atoms, Molecules, and Gases; Microelectronic, Photonic, and Quantum Devices; Quantum Optics; Precision Spectroscopy; Quantum Information and Entanglement; Scanning Probe Microscopy; Quantum, Topological, and strongly-correlated materials.

Required:

Ph.D. in Physics or a related field post Ph.D. experience.
