The IT Support Specialist provides technical support and assistance to New Horizon Bank in the installation and operation of computer hardware, software and peripherals. Work is performed within established procedures and standard practices under general supervision. Contacts are regularly and frequently made at all organizational levels within and outside the department. Professional judgment and confidentiality is required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day functions of information technology.
- Provide IT help desk support.
- Operate as a System Administrator on various systems and assist with user access provisioning.
- Work with third parties to review system reports, resolve issues, perform updates, etc.
- Install and upgrade computer hardware, software and peripherals.
- Troubleshoot and repair Laptops and Desktop computers.
- Troubleshoot and repair printers, scanners, network equipment, etc.
- Analyze, troubleshoot and resolve issues with computer hardware, software and peripherals.
- Maintain inventory of all computer hardware and software assets.
- Test computers, printers and peripherals to evaluate performance issues.
- Review daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual vendor reports/information and implement remediation of any findings that may be needed.
- Assist with Board reporting on a quarterly basis.
- Assist with education of Bank Staff with regards to information technology/security.
- Perform at least quarterly backup recovery tests.
- Assist with Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity and Incident Response testing.
- Assist with the development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of policies, procedures and internal controls related to information technology functions.
- Assists and interfaces with examiners and auditors during regulatory exams and internal audits when related to information technology functions.
- Assists with examinations and audit reports related to information technology, including support where corrective actions are required.
- Performs other work as assigned.
Requirements
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of IT related hardware, software, operating systems and peripherals. This includes such things as Windows based systems and servers, Microsoft Office 365, file/folder management, email, Internet, security related systems, etc.
- Considerable knowledge of hardware and software installations and upgrades.
- Demonstrated ability in analyzing, troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, operating system and peripherals problems.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred).
- Two years’ banking experience preferred.
