- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design/Technology, Business, Human Resources Development, or related field required.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Additional years of equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of the degree requirement.
- Valid Georgia driver’s license and availability of private transportation or ability to attend off-site meetings.
- Professional certifications such as SHRM-CP, PHR, SPHR, pHCLE, or other recognized HR credentials preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in instructional design, professional development, training facilitation, or organizational development in K–12 or higher education.
- Prior leadership experience in learning design, project management, or school/district-based professional learning preferred.
- Experience in K–12 education or public sector preferred.
- Expertise in adult learning theory, instructional design, and digital learning tools.
- Strong technical knowledge of Learning Management Systems (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard, Frontline), instructional design software (e.g., Articulate 360, Captivate), and content development platforms.
- Ability to design and deliver engaging in-person and virtual training for diverse employee audiences.
- Experience creating custom courses and scalable development programs for both instructional and non-instructional staff.
- Strong skills in program marketing, communications, and stakeholder engagement to build awareness and increase participation in career development opportunities.
- Ability to evaluate programs through data analysis, learning analytics, and measurable career outcomes.

- Supports efforts to market and promote career development programs across the district to maximize employee engagement and participation.
- Provides critical support to the planning, design, and delivery of HR signature events, ensuring alignment with talent development and organizational growth priorities.
- Consults with internal stakeholders to identify skill gaps and create targeted learning solutions that support employee advancement.
- Leads the design of digital learning content (e-learning modules, simulations, blended learning programs, video-based learning) using platforms such as Frontline, Canvas, Blackboard, Articulate, and comparable tools; serving as the subject matter expert.
- Partners with district leaders, school leaders, and HR teams to promote broad access to career development resources.
- Sources and manages content vendors to supplement internal course design, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective, and aligned learning solutions.
- Leads and/or participates in cross-departmental task forces, committees, training initiatives, and projects related to professional growth and career mobility.
- Builds partnerships with external organizations, professional associations, and higher education institutions to expand career development opportunities for APS employees.
- Develops evaluation frameworks and uses analytics to measure program effectiveness, reporting outcomes to HR and district leadership to inform talent strategies.
- Provides career coaching to APS staff to support individual growth, mobility, and professional advancement.
- Supports APS’s commitment to inclusion and excellence by ensuring learning resources are accessible, relevant, and innovative.
- Required to have prompt, regular attendance in person and be available to work on-site during regular business hours and as needed.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Coordinator designs, develops, and facilitates engaging learning experiences that build employee skills, support career growth, and align with district talent development goals. Collaborates with HR and district teams to create accessible digital and in-person learning resources, coordinate signature events, and deliver scalable programs that help APS employees grow and advance in their careers.
