The Entry Business & Financial Analyst role supports the business strategy and objectives through data-driven analysis, reporting, and financial planning.
NOTE: this role is hybrid and requires 3 days a week onsite at our Walnut Creek office.
RESPONSIBILITIES / JOB DUTIES
- Data and Financial Analysis: Perform variance analysis and basic analytical activities using financial statements and business reports.
- Reporting: Maintain, generate, and review period business and financial reports.
- Data accuracy: Identify and research data variances and errors in existing reports.
- Plan and Forecast: Update existing models with historical data and incorporate business partner input on expense, headcount and FTE budgets.
- Business Partner Support: Answer data and budget questions and explain variance analysis to plan, forecast and prior periods of financial statements and operational metrics.
- Documentation: Regularly update documentation for procedures and processes.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Strong mathematical and analytical capacity.
- Knowledge of accounting and financial concepts or database concepts.
- Spreadsheets (Excel, Google Sheets) and Presentation (PowerPoint Google Slides).
- Proficient Business Writing.
- Basic understanding of relational database structures.
- Understanding of AGILE practices.
EDUCATION, COMPETENCIES, CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
- Bachelor's degree in related area or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 0-2 years of experience conducting financial and/or business analysis.
