Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer - Producibility

What you will be doing:
The Valves and CMV Producibility team is responsible for the development and ownership of manufacturing methods for SSNA, Dreadnought, and Current Class products. The team plays a key role in ensuring that production processes are efficient, reliable, and continuously improving across both internal operations and the wider supply chain.
Core responsibilities include developing and embedding process improvements, resolving production issues through effective problem-solving, and driving continuous improvement of tools, processes, and methods. The team also manages the introduction of new products (NPI) into the facility, ensuring that Design for Manufacture (DfM) principles are thoroughly applied to all new SSNA products. Additionally, by utilising the Integration Product and Production Readiness (IPPR) process, the team effectively manages programme and product maturity, enabling the smooth integration of new products into production.
Responsibilities:

Produce robust manufacturing solutions which are insensitive to variation to address specified requirements.
Collaborate and communicate design solution information with task stakeholders.
Liaise with manufacturing and supply chain to actively integrate the experience and knowledge from these areas.
Be responsible for planning, project managing and delivering technical packages/investigations in line with programme milestones within agreed cost, timescale and quality requirements, including managing inputs from specialist areas and integrating activities to achieve the defined requirements.
Understand company business and function objectives and to always act in accordance with both the company values and those associated with being a professional engineer.
Actively promote, encourage and support the identification and implementation of continuous improvement (of tools, processes and methods) both within and outside their immediate sphere and prompt action across the wider team.

To be successful in this role you will need to meet the following criteria:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical capability based on practical knowledge and experience.
Technical experience relevant to the engineering discipline.
An ability to apply logical, analytical and innovative thinking on a range of technical problems.
Knowledge and experience of product integrity / liability and justification.
Membership of a relevant professional body or working towards.
Experience as manufacturing engineer operating across the product life cycle, undertaking design safety justification activities supporting manufacturing, integration, maintenance /refit activities and dealing with operational issues.
Experience in the development of methods, standards and processes.
