JOB SUMMARY

To provide general HR Administration and general administrative support to the People and Development Department.

The People Administrator focuses on empowering employees’ collaboration, excellence, innovation, engagement and ownership in an employee oriented culture.

Closing date: 3rd November 2025
Annual Salary: circa £30k dependent on experience

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

This is an office-based role with the flexibility to WFH up to one day per week

  • To provide advice and guidance to staff members using Workday HCM including assisting with their change of personal details, contract amendments etc and to ensure tasks received in the Workday HCM inbox are dealt with promptly.

  • Draft contracts of employment and contract amendments

  • Conduct employment reference, background and right to work checks.

  • Prepare employment references for both current and former employees.

  • Responsible for employee lifecycle, including onboarding and offboarding.

  • Responsible for processing employee’s holiday flex requests on Workday.

  • Oversee the processing of employee referral payments. Distribute a weekly company-wide report detailing new starters and leavers.

  • Verify that new employees have submitted the correct qualification certificates.

  • Send welcome day-one information to new starters.

  • Distribute eye test vouchers to employees.

  • Support HR Advisors and Business Partners with employee queries.

  • Take minutes during disciplinary or grievance meetings.

  • Participate in ad-hoc projects as needed.

  • Assist with the administration of company benefit schemes.

  • Order and replenish departmental stationery.

  • Arrange flowers for employees as and when required.

  • Open, date stamp and distribute mail accordingly within the department.

  • Answer the telephone in a professional and courteous manner and process messages.

  • Assist with general HR queries

  • Carry out any other reasonable duties, as directed by the HR Admin Manager.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • HR Administration experience is essential.

  • The ideal candidate must have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

  • Experience using HR software, preferably Workday is highly desirable.

  • Strong inter-personal skills combined with a requirement to ensure confidentiality when appropriate are essential.

  • The ability to manage a varied workload and prioritise, as necessary.

  • The successful applicant must be able to work effectively as a team member.

  • A positive and helpful attitude towards work is essential.

  • The candidate must possess excellent communication and organisational skills.
