We’re currently looking for an Occasional Babysitter in Southwest Montréal, H3K 1M1
A lovely family, near Pointe-Saint-Charles, close to the city center and Charlevoix Station, is seeking an occasional babysitter for their independent 18-month-old, with an immediate start. Backup care is needed 1-3 times per month on weekdays from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The family is also looking for candidates who may have daytime availability during the week when the child is home sick. The family is usually able to provide at least one month's notice for upcoming care needs. Their toddler enjoys outdoor play, singing, and music - though may be shy when first meeting new people. Applicants do not need to be available for every request, but should understand there are no guaranteed hours for this position. The family also has a friendly, hypoallergenic cat - no pet care is required.

Responsibilities
- Bedtime and bath routines (typically between 7:30 PM-8:00 PM)
- Diaper changes
- Providing premade meals
- Engaging in age-appropriate play and activities
Requirements
- 2 years of paid, professional toddler care experience
- CPR certified, or willing to become certified
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Able to provide 2 childcare-related references from a professional setting
- Able to successfully pass a background and social media screening
- Bilingual (FR/EN) or French-spoken is a plus
Compensation
This position pays $20-$25 per hour, and the family is looking for intermittent care during the evenings.
