The Interprofessional Development team is rich in skills and knowledge, diverse in roles and outcomes, and consistently involved in education, evaluation, research and innovation initiatives. We rally together around common goals in line with HHS’ vision, mission and strategic priorities. Relationships and work touch all clinical areas of HHS, and our networks are extensive both internally and externally. McMaster University and Mohawk College are significant collaborators in our daily work. The Interprofessional Development team is positioned within the Nursing Practice, Education and Community Health portfolio and supports HHS staff and learners with their education, professional development and practice needs. Services provided include staff education and development; learner placements; libraries, Internationally Educated Nurse (IEN) programs and Ministry Health Human Resource initiatives.


As part of the Administrative Support team reporting to the Manager of Clinical Practice and Education, the Education Technology Assistant supports the overall administration of the organizational Learning Management System and works with Learning Technology Specialist (LTS) to establish protocols, maintain data integrity, provides data entry support (retrospective data entry), maintains learner profile information and provide support to staff.  The position also provides support to roles such as Education and Development Clinician and back-up to other roles, such as Administrative Assistant, Program Secretary and Secretary.  This role requires excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with directors, managers, staff, health care providers, learners, other administrative assistants and the general public, ensuring strict confidentiality is maintained at all times.  A customer service focus is essential.  The Education Technology Assistant is a part of the corporate education resource team also supporting central education programs and must be able to work at all sites of HHS.

1. Graduate of Community College Business office administrative program, accounting program, or equivalent
2. Demonstrated experience in using and administering a Learning Management System
3. Experience within the last two years in managing scheduling and payroll utilizing KRONOS software is considered an asset
4. Proficient keyboarding skills (60 wpm)
5. Demonstrated ability to appreciate the confidential nature of the position
5. Demonstrated excellent computer skills in a variety of applications including Windows, MS Word, MS Access, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, Taleo, KRONOS, My HR, Meditech, Management Information Tool, Basware, E-Way & electronic forms ordering  
6. Strong administrative and organizational background, ability to prioritize, multi task, schedule and carry out tasks with strong attention to detail and deadlines, strong organization and time management skills
7. Demonstrated excellence in effective communication within a professional environment (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
8. Demonstrated ability to work in a high-volume, demanding work environment, to juggle competing priorities and to meet deadlines
9. Effective and creative problem solving and analytical skills  
10. Team player with strong sense of ownership and accountability; ability to work independently using own initiative, organize and establish priorities
11. Demonstrated record in pursuing own continuing professional development
12. Positive attitude combined with excellent customer service skills
13. Demonstrated ability to develop systems that create efficient workflow
14. Demonstrated commitment to the HHS vision and continuous quality improvement
15. Demonstrated understanding of the corporate context and ability to make suggestions and create systems, which will assist the program within this context
