The Accounts Receivable (AR) Supervisor leads, provides operational support, coaching, and guidance for AR Advisors and AR Clerks. This role ensures the accurate and timely processing of receivables, resolves escalated issues, and partners with the AR Manager to drive team performance, process efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Key Accountabilities- Demonstrate a consistent commitment to service excellence in all interactions.
- Act as first point of contact for escalated inquiries from AR Advisors and AR Clerks.
- Provide daily supervision, mentoring, and coaching to assigned team members.
- Support onboarding, training, and ongoing development for AR Advisors and AR Clerks.
- Monitor workflow and ensure service level targets and deadlines are met.
- Maintain accurate records of resident billing, payments, adjustments and move-in/move-out transactions.
- Assist in complex account reconciliations and issue resolution.
- Track and monitor files sent to collection agencies.
- Coordinate and prepare consolidated aging reports for review and decision making.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, company policies and established procedures.
- Identify and contribute to improvements in policies, processes, and documentation.
- Participate in audits, system implementations, and special projects as assigned.
- Perform other duties assigned by the AR Manager.
People Leadership:
- Prior experience mentoring, coaching, or supervising staff preferred.
Education:
- Post-secondary edcuation in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in Accounts Receivable or related finance roles.
Skills & Abilities:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel (intermediate level).
- Experience with ERP or billing systems; Yardi experience is a strong asset.
- Solid understanding of billing systems, AR processes, and account reconciliation.
- Written and spoken French is considered an asset.
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Effort
Work requires sustained attention to detail, including verifying and reconciling numerical data, frequent computer use, and continuous monitoring of account information. The role is primarily performed at a desk in an office environment, involving prolonged periods of sitting, keyboarding, and occasional standing or walking.
