We are recruiting for an Operations Officer to provide day to day operational management of workspaces within the Torbay area, and to assist in providing a professional estate management service on the behalf of the Council.

The role is varied, you will be managing and making best use of our assets, maintaining electronic records and providing support to our Estates Team. You’ll need effective communication and organisational skills and be good at negotiation.

We need you to have experience of property matters, have an understanding of the relevant legislation and have experience of Microsoft Office packages.

Skills

Essential:
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to provide advice and guidance and signpost to prospective tenants/tenants.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
As this post meets the requirements of the Immigration Act 2016 (part 7), the ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.

Knowledge

Essential:
  • Knowledge of repair and maintenance of buildings and offices.
  • Understanding of health and safety issues in the workplace.
  • Knowledge of business support available to prospective tenants/tenants.

Experience & Qualifications

Essential:
  • Working in customer facing organisation/role.
  • Demonstrable negotiating/sales experience.
  • Experience of working within the Workspace and Business Support sectors.
