Temporary - Research (Exempt) - Physics & Astronomy bei Vanderbilt University

• Analyze CMS experiment data for jet quenching and energy correlators.
• Supervise and communicate daily with graduate student Yilun Wu.
• Prepare publications on data analysis results, ensuring high-quality scientific communication.
• Develop and implement data analysis techniques using machine learning.
• Collaborate with the research team to ensure efficient data processing and interpretation.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of research activities.
• Assist in the organization and presentation of research findings at conferences or seminars.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in physics and astronomy research.
• Provide support and guidance to other team members as needed.

• Bachelor's degree in Physics, Astronomy, or a related field.
• Experience in data analysis and interpretation, preferably in a research setting.
• Strong programming skills, particularly in machine learning techniques.
• Excellent communication and supervision skills for effective student collaboration.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Familiarity with CMS experiment data and analysis tools is an advantage.
• Proficiency in scientific writing and publication preparation.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in research.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new research methodologies.
• A passion for physics and a desire to contribute to scientific advancements.
