MBL Technologies is seeking a Data Manager to join our team. While the position is remote, the selected candidate may need to attend in person meetings located in the Washington, D.C area. The Data Manager will be responsible for defining and building effective and efficient databases utilizing a variety of software products. The individual will ensure that all of this is done with the utmost security and confidentiality.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain efficient and secure databases using a variety of software tools and platforms.
- Collect, organize, analyze, and protect sensitive client data to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
- Collaborate with technical teams to define requirements, communicate data input processes, and ensure database accuracy.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to maintain and improve data quality across multiple data sources, leading data-centric initiatives that align with mission objectives.
Develop and implement data management policies, procedures, and standards in accordance with federal cybersecurity and NIST privacy frameworks. - Conduct data validation, transformation, and analysis to support business intelligence and cybersecurity reporting.
- Develop interactive dashboards and visualizations using Power BI to communicate key findings and performance metrics to leadership.
- Prepare detailed management reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to inform executive decision-making.
- Define and apply statistical methods and predictive analytics to solve cybersecurity and operational challenges.
- Support the continuous improvement of data protection practices, ensuring compliance with federal laws, privacy standards, and organizational policies.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for data governance, integrity, and security across the program lifecycle.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiency with Power BI for creating data models, reports, and interactive dashboards that drive informed decision-making.
- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Proven ability to design, implement, and optimize databases and data structures across cloud and on-premises systems.
- Strong analytical, statistical, and critical thinking skills with the ability to identify trends and translate data into actionable insights.
- Experience with data analysis tools, database management systems (DBMS), and reporting software such as SQL, Tableau, Python, or R.
- Familiarity with federal information security, privacy, and data protection standards (e.g., NIST SP 800-53, FISMA, CUI).
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project milestones under tight deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with clients, technical teams, and leadership.
- Experience handling private or sensitive information in compliance with data security and privacy policies.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when compiling and presenting statistical findings.
