The cultural zeitgeist is swayed by the actors, musicians, and artisans creating the movies, music, and television series on every screen. To tap into the power of pop culture, Sinclair is creating a new content hub to bridge local communities to their favorite stars. Through engaging interviews, exclusive behind-the-scenes vignettes, and highly sharable digital video franchises, we will be producing and distributing content that goes beyond the ordinary that breaks through the clutter digital landscape. The core of our mission is to create best-in-class content across all platforms in all mediums, captivating pop culture fans in new and exciting ways.
To help bring this vision to life, we are looking for a multi-faceted creative thinker to join our team with a focus on writing, producing, and editing original Entertainment focused content. The ideal candidate will have experience pitching and executing a high volume of creative work for both sites and social. A resume/reel/portfolio that highlights creative storytelling skills that capture the attention of audiences of all ages is a must. To succeed in this role, you should be well-versed in the language of the internet, hyperaware of social trends, and possess the ability to articulate a creative vision.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Attend daily content strategy sessions and pitch ideas for coverage
- Review pre-release materials and propose original digital content
- Attend premieres/events and conduct interviews/capture images
- Write entertainment news articles and edit video packages through to delivery
- Shoot/direct/edit field productions and in-studio content
- Coordinate with national and local news teams on scheduling and distribution
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 3-5 years in entertainment news and/or entertainment marketing
- Creative portfolio showcasing interviews and talent focused original content
- Experience covering premieres, press junkets, and live events
- Familiarity with the industry press cycle, and existing relationships with publicity teams
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, Photoshops, After Effects, etc.)
- Impeccable spelling and grammar, and a keen eye for detail
- Experience on camera is a plus!
