Plano ISD is implementing TIA with a small number of schools beginning with the 2025-2026 school year. This position will support the forward movement of this effort along with dveloping the necessary structures for the expansion of TIA across the district.

Primary Purpose:

The TIA lead drives the work of developing and supporting the implementation of the local designation system and serves as a point of contact for TEA. The TIA lead coordinates with district departments and key stakeholders to manage the system and to provide direct support to teachers and administrators.

Qualifications:
Education/Certification:

Bachelor's Degree
Valid Texas teaching certificate
Administrator certification preferred

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Expertise, capacity, and high-level support to lead the work of developing a local designation system.
Ability to analyze student growth data, teacher observation ratings, and other performance metrics to ensure fair and accurate identification of highly effective teachers.
Deep understanding of teacher evaluation systems (such as T-TESS) and how they align with TIA requirements, including observation calibration and scoring reliability.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to clearly convey expectations, processes, and feedback to teachers, administrators, and district leadership, while fostering collaboration and trust.
Ability to manage timelines, coordinate tasks across departments, and ensure compliance with state and district guidelines for TIA implementation.
Skill in designing and delivering training and coaching for appraisers, teachers, and other stakeholders to support continuous improvement and effective TIA practices.

Experience:

Minimum of two years of experience as an implementer of the TIA program preferred

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Lead the district-wide rollout and ongoing management of the TIA program, ensuring alignment with TEA requirements and district goals.
Monitor the accuracy and validity of student growth measures, teacher evaluation data, and other qualifying metrics used in the designation process.
Serve as the primary point of contact between the district, school administrators, TEA, and any third-party providers involved in TIA.
Provide training, calibration, and ongoing support for campus leaders and appraisers to ensure consistent and fair implementation of teacher evaluations.
Oversee the preparation and submission of teacher designation data to the Texas Education Agency, including all required documentation.
Evaluate and refine student growth models used for TIA eligibility to ensure fairness, accuracy, and alignment with instructional goals.
Communicate clearly with teachers about eligibility criteria, timelines, appeals processes, and designation outcomes.
Stay current with TIA updates from the Texas Education Agency and adjust district procedures as needed to remain in compliance.
Develop systems to ensure appraisal reliability and validity, including regular data reviews and inter-rater reliability checks.
Manage or support the resolution of disputes or appeals related to TIA designations in a fair and transparent manner.
Work closely with Human Resources and Finance to ensure accurate teacher compensation and stipend distribution tied to TIA designations.
Analyze and report on TIA impact, trends, and results to district leadership, school boards, and other stakeholders.
