TEAMThe Woven by Toyota North America Systems Verification & Validation (V&V) team drives systems-level innovation for advanced AD/ADAS technologies—ensuring safety, performance, and seamless integration into real-world product deployments.WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?We’re seeking a Systems Engineer with deep knowledge of AD/ADAS systems and safety processes. The ideal candidate can translate user requirements into robust autonomous software system requirements, manage technical interfaces and risk, and collaborate across hardware, software, and systems disciplines. Experience bridging research concepts into production programs is especially valued.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Work cross-functionally with product, technical program management, software, and hardware engineering to analyze system behavior and design, integrate, verify and deploy features for AD/ADAS systems 

Develop system level vehicle requirements and decompose to lower-level subsystems (e.g. sensor, compute, planner, perception, etc.)

Develop system latency budgets based on scenario analysis and working cross functionally across different disciplines

Generate evaluation system for assessing system performance against product level Key Performance Indicators

Define and support the execution of systems verification and validation testing in simulation and on vehicle level

Define system and sub-system level architecture

Lead cross-functional technical design reviews

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

8+ years of professional work experience, preferably working around complex system development

Master’s degree in one of the following fields: mechanical, computer engineering, systems engineering or related disciplines

Experience working with complex safety-critical systems combining all parts of the autonomy/ADAS stack 

Expertise in transforming high-level mission or product requirements into a robust architecture, including detailed requirement decomposition and ensuring end-to-end traceability

Demonstrated experience performing engineering analysis & trade studies of entire system covering perception, planning, mechanical components, controls, and safety

Demonstrated experience defining and executing verification and validation testing for complex systems

Demonstrated experience in design, executing and interpreting verification and validation tests results in simulation environments as well as in-vehicle

Demonstrated experience in successfully launching automotive programs or other domain-specific initiatives for customers

Ability to influence, negotiate, and inspire others in a matrixed environment

Proven ability to operate effectively and autonomously across multiple teams in situations of ambiguity, with only high-level direction

Experience in requirement derivation, tracking, and verification test processes (V diagram) in automotive applications

Understanding of typical vehicle communication protocols/interfaces

Software coding skills (Python, C/C++ or other)
