Job Description: VP, Parcel Services

Reporting to the SVP, Sales & Operations, the VP of Parcel Services oversees and manages all aspects of a company's parcel delivery operations. This includes strategy, operations, and commercial responsibilities, ensuring efficient and cost-effective parcel delivery services. An ideal candidate will have a proven track record of cultivating partnerships with major parcel carriers and will have successfully designed and implemented innovative E-commerce and shipping solutions for a broad cross section of shippers. The VP also plays a key role in managing budgets, tracking performance metrics, and staying abreast of industry trends.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement strategies for parcel delivery focused on increasing customer value creation and retention
• Develop and execute a comprehensive parcel strategy aligned with overall business objectives. 
• Oversee the daily operations of parcel, creating and driving customer service.  Manage the parcel operations team engaging in contract negotiation and performance management.  Build and maintain strong relationships with parcel vendors, negotiating favorable rates and service agreements. 
• Build and maintain strong relationships with MODE Global agents helping them better understand the parcel product and create customer-specific strategies that drive profitable market share growth
• Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives within the parcel delivery network.
• Utilize technology to improve operational efficiency, tracking, and customer service.
• Standardize and document internal processes to drive consistent and transparent operations.
• Create & maintain updated training and sales enablement materials to drive increased sales and agent engagement within the Parcel product line.
• Stay informed about and implement new technologies to improve parcel management and delivery.
• Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through efficient and reliable parcel delivery services.
• Provide leadership and guidance to the parcel operations team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. 
• Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to parcel delivery, such as on-time delivery rates and cost per package.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and laws related to parcel delivery. 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven experience in a senior leadership role within logistics, transportation, or a related field.
• In-depth knowledge of parcel shipping and delivery operations, including best practices and industry trends.
• Ability to develop and implement strategic plans to optimize parcel operations.
• Strong understanding of budgeting, cost management, and financial analysis.
• Ability to negotiate favorable contracts and agreements with carriers.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.

Experience with an agent-based network highly preferred
