The Stow Company is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Material Handler Warehouse position located in Nampa, ID. We are the country’s premier source for custom closets and organizational solutions; designed, custom-cut, and shipped directly to our clients.
Primary Purpose of Position:
At The Stow Company, Material Handler Warehouse team members are a key part of our dynamic and growing team! The Material Handler Warehouse position is a mid-level warehouse position responsible for conveyance and movement of product throughout the plant. Forklift or other equipment will be utilized as part of the job, as well as manual labor.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Safely operate all forklift equipment available at Stow, including propane or electric, sit-down or stand-up Forklift
- Move raw goods, work in progress, and finished goods around the plant floor as needed, primarily with powered equipment such as Forklift
- Band and Wrap pallets for shipment
- Lives Company values on a daily basis.
- Poses no direct threat to the health or safety of themselves, of others, or to property. Defined as a significant risk of substantial harm that cannot be eliminated or reduced to an acceptable level by reasonable accommodation.
- Requires regular attendance to perform essential elements as contained herein between the assigned start and end times for work.
- Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the Corporation and the community; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities
The Stow Company may temporarily assign any team member with duties outside of their normal responsibilities. Such assignments may be warranted due to a variety of specific requirements, conditions and/or the capabilities of available personnel. Management will determine the nature and duration of those assignments.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED a plus
- Warehouse or Forklift experience a big plus
Certifications/Licenses/Registrations:
- Must obtain a Stow Company forklift license and maintain forklift when driving
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Strong inventory/transaction skills and an aptitude for hands-on work
- Strong knowledge and experience with Forklift
- Ability to be very flexible and respond quickly to the needs of the business.
- Demonstrates a strong attention to detail
- Meets productivity, quality, and safety goals
- Follows directions and completes paperwork correctly and neatly
- Be willing and able to follow all company policies
- Actively participates in all team meetings and events
- Interpersonal skills in order to work effectively with individuals both internally and externally to The Stow Company
- Must have excellent customer service skills; including strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must have the ability to interface with all levels of personnel in an office and a manufacturing environment
- Ability to take the initiative and work well independently with little supervision, and as part of a team
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Must be able to lift, push and pull product weighing up to 50 pounds multiple times a day
- Able to bend, twist and stand for up to 12 hours
- Able to tolerate an environment where sawdust particles are present
- Able to communicate in an environment with a low to medium level of ambient noise
- Able to use a sit down or stand up forklift for up to 80% of the workday
- Standing and walking approximately 100% of work time
- Ability to work overtime or occasionally on weekends with short notice
- Manufacturing environment with multiple machinery and moving parts
