As an Associate – Product Owner, you will be responsible for supporting the Product Owner and Delivery Team by assisting in managing and maintaining the Product Backlog, ensuring alignment with business goals, and facilitating the development of product features. You will assist with maximizing the value of the product through collaboration, clear communication, and diligent prioritization of work.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in Defining Product Goals; collaborate with the Product Owner to develop and communicate the Product Goal; understand and align work with business objectives and stakeholder expectations
  • Support Product Backlog Management; help maintain a transparent and prioritized Product Backlog; assist in creating and refining user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria under the guidance of the Product Owner
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders; work with cross-functional teams, including development, QA, and business units, to understand and represent customer needs; participate in stakeholder meetings to gather and document product requirements
  • Participate in Agile Ceremonies; attend sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives; support the Product Owner in managing iteration planning and addressing interdependencies between teams
  • Provide Feedback and Support; review product features during development and provide feedback to ensure alignment with user needs and business goals; act as a liaison between the Product Owner and the Delivery Team to ensure clear communication
  • Learn and Grow in Product Ownership; develop skills in Agile frameworks and product management tools; embrace a growth mindset to continuously improve product ownership capabilities
  • Embody the Scrum Values: Openness, Respect, Courage, Commitment and Focus 
  • Be “The Ideal Team Member” – Hungry, Humble, and Smart

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree - Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field, or equivalent, relevant work experience required; Masters Degree preferred
  • Certifications in Agile (e.g., PSM, CSPO) preferred
  • 1 years of experience in a related role, such as Business Analyst, Scrum Team Member, or Junior Product Manager
  • Basic understanding of Agile frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban)
  • Strong communication and organizational skills 
  • Ability to write and refine clear user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment preferred
  • Familiarity with product management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello) preferred
  • Basic knowledge of user experience (UX) or customer experience (CX) design principles preferred
  • Ability to travel 0% - 25%

This amount is what we reasonably believe we will pay for the position; however, offer amounts may vary based on factors such as geographic location, relevant education, experience, qualifications, skills, shift, or any collective bargaining agreements.

For eligible positions, compensation may include participation in a bonus or sales incentive plan, subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plan documents. For certain sales roles, Wesco also offers a commission structure that provides additional compensation based on sales results, as defined by the applicable commission plan.  Depending on the role, equity and other forms of compensation may also be provided as part of the total compensation package.
