We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Engineering Manager with a strong background in Python development and a proven track record in startup or founding environments. The ideal candidate will be passionate about building scalable, high-quality software products and leading engineering teams to deliver impactful solutions. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with founders and cross-functional teams to shape the technical vision and drive the execution of our product roadmap.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
• Architect, design, and deliver high-quality software solutions using Python, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Collaborate closely with founders and product teams to define technical strategy, roadmap, and priorities in alignment with business goals.
• Drive end-to-end software development lifecycle including requirements gathering, system design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Establish engineering best practices, coding standards, and processes that enhance productivity and maintainability.
• Actively participate in hands-on coding, code reviews, and problem-solving sessions to maintain technical excellence within the team.
• Evaluate and integrate new technologies, tools, and frameworks to enhance the development process and product capabilities.
• Ensure timely delivery of high-quality features while balancing technical debt and operational efficiency.
• Foster a startup-like mindset within the engineering team, encouraging innovation, experimentation, and ownership at all levels.
• Collaborate with other departments such as Product, Design, and Operations to ensure seamless integration and delivery of features.

Qualifications & Skills:

• 7-11 years of experience in software engineering, with significant hands-on expertise in Python development.
• Prior experience in founding or working closely with startup leadership teams is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, data structures, algorithms, and system design.
• Proven experience in building and managing high-performing engineering teams.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and modern development practices such as CI/CD, microservices, and containerization.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make architectural and strategic technical decisions.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to balance long-term vision with short-term execution in a fast-paced, startup-like environment.
• Passion for mentoring, coaching, and developing engineering talent.
