What you’ll be doing
• Translates product and customer billing requirements into detailed solution designs, leveraging Netcracker NRM capabilities and AWS-based microservices, following established design methodologies and architectural principles.
• Owns the technical direction for billing solutions, recommending optimal designs that balance scalability, maintainability, and integration efficiency across the end-to-end stack.
• Leads design reviews and validation for new features and in-life enhancements, ensuring seamless integration between the billing engine, AWS integration layer, and upstream/downstream systems.
• Drives continuous improvement in solution design and delivery practices, focusing on automation, reusability, and alignment with enterprise architecture standards.
• Manages solution design engagements, including scoping, effort estimation, and creation of Statements of Work (SoWs), coordinating with internal teams and third-party vendors as needed.
• Builds strong relationships with stakeholders, including product owners, architects, and customer teams, influencing billing strategy and operational decisions through deep domain expertise.
• Ensures architectural consistency across billing solutions, promoting standardization of integration patterns, data models, and service interfaces to reduce cost and improve delivery velocity.
• Supports customer migration planning, including legacy billing transitions, data mapping, and cutover strategies, ensuring minimal disruption and high data integrity.
• Coordinates impact assessments and maintains up-to-date design documentation, reflecting changes across the billing and integration landscape.
• Resolves complex solution issues, leading root cause analysis and driving resolution across billing, integration, and infrastructure layers.
• Identifies and mitigates risks in solution design, ensuring compliance with security, regulatory, and operational policies relevant to billing and cloud-based services.
• Provides thought leadership in strategic bids and solution proposals, shaping the technical approach for billing transformation initiatives.
• Mentors junior designers and engineers, sharing billing domain knowledge, design best practices, and fostering a culture of technical excellence.
• Champions innovation and continuous learning, staying abreast of emerging trends in billing systems, cloud integration, and customer experience technologies.

• Netcracker NRM Product Expertise – Deep understanding of NRM architecture, product modeling, and configuration.
• Product Model Design – Ability to design and configure product catalogs aligned with business offerings.
• Bill Formatting Design – Experience in customizing bill layouts and formats based on customer and regulatory requirements.
• PL/SQL – Strong skills in writing and optimizing database procedures, functions, and queries.
• Java – Proficiency in backend service development and customization within the billing ecosystem.
• Interface Design – Designing robust interfaces between billing and external systems.
• Integration Patterns – Knowledge of synchronous/asynchronous integration, API gateways, and event-driven architectures.

Experience you’d be expected to have
Domain & Role Experience
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Solution Designer in the telecom billing domain, preferably with exposure to large-scale enterprise platforms.
• Proven track record of designing end-to-end billing solutions, including product modeling, rating, charging, invoicing, and integration with external systems.
• Experience working closely with product owners, architects, and delivery teams to translate business requirements into technical designs.
Technical Development Experience
• 8–10 years of hands-on development experience in:
o Netcracker NRM – including product catalog configuration, service modeling, and billing workflows.
o PL/SQL – for data manipulation, stored procedures, and performance tuning in billing-related databases.
o Java – for backend service development, customization, and integration logic.
o Microservices Architecture – designing and consuming RESTful services, preferably hosted on AWS.
o AWS Platform – experience with cloud-native services such as Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, etc.
o Interface & Integration Design – including experience with JSON, XML, XSD, and integration patterns (e.g., event-driven, pub/sub, batch, real-time).
Solution Design & Architecture
• Experience in creating solution architecture documents, interface specifications, and data flow diagrams for billing and integration platforms.
• Familiarity with design methodologies, impact assessments, and migration planning for legacy-to-modern billing transitions.
• Ability to assess and recommend technical trade-offs, ensuring alignment with business goals and platform strategy.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, collaborating with cross-functional teams across development, QA, DevOps, and business stakeholders.
• Exposure to vendor coordination and managing third-party deliverables in multi-vendor ecosystems.
Leadership & Communication
• Demonstrated ability to mentor junior designers and developers, and lead solution design discussions.
• Strong communication skills for presenting solutions, conducting design walkthroughs, and influencing stakeholders at various levels.
