  1. Job Summary

Under the direction of the Senior Director of Operations and Technology, this position coordinates Luther Seminary campus operations in order to deliver on the Seminary’s Values and Welcome Statement. Specifically, this position oversees student housing, on- and off-campus event hosting, building access, mailroom, campus calendar, room reservation system, and operation of the campus operations desk.


  1. Essential Functions
  • Coordinate event and program logistics
    • Serve as the primary logistical coordinator for seminary events, both on-campus and off-campus
    • Manage room scheduling and facility reservations
    • Coordinate physical setup and break down with the Facilities team
    • Manage vendors for events, including catering, audiovisual rentals, and specialized cleaning or security
  • Oversee identity cards and access management, including:
    • ID card production and administration
    • Building access control
    • Routine audits and security compliance
  • Oversee student housing and residential logistics
    • Maintain accurate records of student housing assignments
    • Create leases for incoming residents
    • Coordinate with Residential Life Program Coordinator for housing assignments and for resolution of disputes with or between residents
    • Coordinate with Business Office to ensure accurate student charges for housing
    • Coordinate with Facilities team for repair of damages and for cleaning after checkout
  • Oversee the mailroom, including both incoming and outgoing mail
  • Supervise the student worker staff of the Operations Desk, including training, scheduling, and oversight
  • Manage the Luther Seminary campus calendar and room reservation system
  • Create and maintain policies and procedures for all areas of responsibility
  • With the Office of Technology, identify and implement software to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of campus operations
  • Support other Luther Seminary departments as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned 


  1. Qualifications

Required: 

  • Three or more years of experience in student housing, event planning and hosting, or higher education administration, preferably in a higher education or similar setting.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Desirable: 

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Attention to details.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills.
  • Proficient with Google Suite and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of ELCA is helpful.
  • Familiarity with other mainline Christian organizations is also helpful.


  1. Physical Demands

Regular computer and phone use. Periodic lifting and carrying of items up to 25 lbs.

Typical work environment is an office. Occasional evening and weekend work to support events.
