Position Summary:
The Shipping Administrator undertakes various administrative and communication tasks. Their primary responsibility is to maintain seamless communication between the Production, Shipping, and Sales departments. They efficiently manage the scheduling of outgoing shipments, review reports, manifests, and other post-production activities. Additionally, they assist in locating finished products for Sales and Shipping.
Essential Functions:
Weekly/Daily Scrub of OOR to help build trucks with the benefits of:
- Build trucks to decrease opportunity for Freight Cost Increase.
- Communication with logistics department.
- Support Shipment Release requests for Shipping Department. (early)
Manage Material Review Board:
- Create BOL against Pick tickets
- Allocate Material against orders for Shipments for stock materials.
- Align with material that needs to be scrapped to keep inventory accurate.
Production Updates
- Identify where materials align against due dates.
- Communicate with sales department on Early/ Partial shipments.
- Assign LTL shipments to Carriers.
- Scrap: Communicate to help decisions to be made on short length requests.
- Follow up with Sales to communicate disposition agreement.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
- Proficient in MS Office Suite
- Has a basic understanding of Personnel and organizational management.
- Ability to work with minimal to no supervision.
- Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to effectively work with all levels of the organization.
- Efficient time management skills.
- Ability to prioritize workload effectively.
- Attention to detail in the handling of company/employee business.
Qualifications:
- Highschool diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of work experience in Business, sales, and/or logistics.
- Effective computer skills including the Microsoft Office Suite are required.
