Position Summary
The Advanced Practice Provider (PA or NP) delivers high-quality, patient-centered care under the supervision of a physician. The APP is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and managing patients, providing education and counseling, and collaborating with the healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes. This role may include clinical, administrative, and educational responsibilities.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Conduct comprehensive assessments, including history-taking, physical exams, and diagnostic evaluations. Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans.
- Diagnosis and Treatment: Order, interpret, and manage diagnostic tests; prescribe medications and other therapies within scope of practice.
- Patient Education: Provide counseling, education, and guidance to patients and families regarding disease prevention, treatment options, and health maintenance.
- Care Coordination: Collaborate with physicians, specialists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely medical records in compliance with legal, regulatory, and organizational standards.
- Professional Development: Stay current with medical knowledge, clinical guidelines, and best practices; participate in continuing education and professional activities.
- Quality Improvement: Contribute to clinical quality improvement initiatives, protocol development, and patient safety programs.
Education, Experience, Licenses, and Certifications
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing (NP) or Physician Assistant studies.
- Current and unrestricted license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of practice
- Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) License
- Minimum of 1–2 years clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant preferred.
- Experience in orthopedics preferred but not required.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and basic administrative workflows.
