Required Qualifications:

  • Master's or Doctorate degree from accredited Nursing program with Adult/Gero-Acute Care certification and/or Family Nurse Practitioner certification is required.
  • Must comply with registration and licensure requirements as specified by the state of Iowa.
  • Active Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner and Registered Nurse licenses in the state of Iowa.
  • Active DEA license or ability to apply for such license prior to or upon hire.
  • Possesses the requisite knowledge and clinical skills to provide care to the adult and geriatric populations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize workflow.
  • Ability and willingness to learn and assist with General Surgery procedures and management.

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Two years of relevant experience in a surgery or clinic environment.
  • Previous operating room experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of physical assessment, differential diagnoses, pathophysiology, pharmacology, management of acute and chronic General Surgery diagnoses.
  • Ability to function with a high degree of independence in a collaborative and multidisciplinary team providing care for highly complex patients.
  • Experience with data and quality management projects.
  • ACLS certification.
