Shop Assistant Manager
Department: Business Development
Reports to: Wholesale & Retail General Manager
Pay Grade: 10-NE Manager/Mid-Level Support
Pay Range: $17.23 - $25.84/hour

The Shop Assistant Manager plays a key role in this mission by supporting the Wholesale & Retail General Manager in leading the daily operations and success of The Shop at Thistle Farms. This position ensures exceptional customer experiences, inspiring visual merchandising, smooth inventory management, and strong team collaboration. The Assistant Manager also contributes ideas to improve shop standards, efficiency, and impact, helping every visitor see and feel the mission of Thistle Farms in action.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Assist in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training new staff.

Oversee the daily workflow of the shop.

Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor
Duties/Responsibilities:

Performs all tasks assigned to Shop Sales assistants
-
Assist the store manager in realizing or exceeding determined sales goals and

objectives

Ensure consistent execution of marketing and visual merchandising and pricing
-
Train staff on how to drive sales through consistent development of product
-
knowledge and customer service standards
-
Help to create The Shop schedule in conjunction with General manager
-
Ensure staff compliance to policies and procedures and report concerns to senior Management
-
Complete various tasks delegated by General manager

Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience in a retail or customer service setting
- Basic computer skills (word processing, email, Google sheets and Excel)
- Ability to operate POS units and troubleshoot any product/pricing issues and enact
- appropriate solutions.
- Knowledge of cash management principles and procedures.
- Knowledge of customer service standards and protocols.
- Ability to analyze and address areas of improvement for the sales team to
- achieve and exceed sales goals.
- Knowledge of retail stock management.
- Ability to summarize and reconcile retail sales reports.
- Ability to supervise and train back-up staff/volunteers.
- Knowledge of visual merchandising and sales promotion techniques.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to bend, stoop, and lift approximately 25 pounds.
- Comfortable with frequent stair climbing as part of daily duties.
- Available to work Saturdays and some weeknights if required.
