Management Level:
P3This position will work at the plant level to coordinate consistent manufacturing practices across our Beef, Pork, and Grinds departments. Responsibilities include interacting with key customers through plant tours or product commercialization efforts, participating in best-practice process method discovery exercises, as well as training front-line leadership and on said processes. Candidate will be expected to offer insights into areas of quality and yield improvement opportunities to improve company P&L and drive business growth for our customer base. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in retail/service case grocery, plant manufacturing, safety, food safety, quality, and yield loss mitigation programs. Candidate will collaborate with all internal departments routinely to support the businesses’ continued growth.
Responsibilities: Work with various teams, establish trust and a highly functioning working relationship. Memorialize best practice manufacturing methods within facility as well as working collaboratively with sister facilities to identify areas for improvement. Work closely with sales, business management, plant operations, and customers during product commercialization efforts. Ensure all facets of the program are deployed effectively and that teaching, coaching, and development are provided to all applicable parties. Validate adherence to an agreed upon process improvement plan, focused on the key areas of quality through consistent manufacturing practices, yield, and customer satisfaction. Must have the ability to work across all shifts as needed based on plant needs. This person will need to champion “Setting The Table” and consistently live out and model the RIGHT behaviors. Possess a hands-on knowledge and comprehension of a broad range of business elements such as: safety, food safety, quality, manufacturing, and storage. Possess the ability to influence change for sustainable cultural and behavioral shifts. Utilize data-driven insights to identify trends, root causes, and areas for improvement. Train team with varying levels of experience, capabilities, education, and background. All other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience: +5 years’ experience in retail meat cutting and/or meat processing facilities with a retail customer focus.
Technical Skills: Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to learn new technical systems, organize yield and quality data and report to plant and corporate leadership on best practice implementation.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills are required.
Travel: Minimal, as needed.
Specific Skills: Knowledge of both beef and pork carcass manufacturing, strong business acumen, knowledge of customer facing retail expectations.
