The purpose of a Human Resources Specialist is to perform responsible and complex classified human resources work relating to a variety of human resources activities including recruitment, classification, compensation, position control, staffing, employee leaves, and audits; serves as a technical resource to employees, administrators, applicants, and the public regarding classified human resources; compiles and maintains a variety of data and information for reporting and reference purposes; ensures compliance with laws, regulations, and policies. The Human Resources Specialist serves as a lead to the Classified Human Resources Technicians and assists department leadership with assigned projects. SPECIAL INFORMATION: Offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a drug test, TB test, fingerprinting and may include a physical exam. The physical and drug screen are paid for by the District. The fingerprint cost is $40.00 and is paid for by the candidate.

Range 53 - $26.18 - $28.90/hour. Advance step placement, up to step 3, may be considered based on previous experience and education. Current employees promotional rules apply.

PROMOTIONAL TESTING - Open to permanent employees of the District and former VUSD employees on the re-employment list only. Resulting in one (1) Eligibility List that will be used to fill current vacancies and any future vacancies that occur within one (1) year or until the list becomes exhausted.
