Description

The Twinsburg Public Library is seeking a Senior Librarian to lead collection and workforce development and serve as a passport agent within the Adult Learning and Information Services Department (ALIS). Collection development includes fiction/non-fiction and databases. This full-time position offers an annual salary ranging from $40,000 to $43,000, commensurate with the candidate’s experience and qualifications. TPL Employees are scheduled for 37.5 hours per week, including evenings and alternating weekends. Applications received before November 10, 2025 will be given first priority.

The Twinsburg Public Library serves the Twinsburg City School District, encompassing the Cities of Twinsburg and Reminderville, as well as Twinsburg Township, with a total population of 27,000. Requirements

Senior Librarians in the ALIS Department play a vital role in supporting the ALIS Manager by overseeing significant project areas and departmental functions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to the Library’s mission and uphold community values and standards. 

  • Acts as Supervisor in Charge in the absence of a manager or director, resolving problem situations, as necessary. 
  • Directs major Library programs or services, which may include one or two of the following: the passport program, Outreach/Home Delivery Service, meeting room administration, or event management. 
  • Assists in training new employees to ensure consistent service delivery. 
  • Provides input to the ALIS Manager on supply and collection development budgets. 
  • Helps patrons locate and obtain Library materials through reference interviews. 
  • Guides patrons in accessing information online and using Library databases, referring them to other departments or external organizations as appropriate. 
  • Supports patrons with current technology in the Library, such as copying, printing, faxing, and scanning. 
  • Offers technology instruction to patrons through classes or one-on-one support. 

Requirements 

  • Master’s degree in information and library science, or MLS. 
  • Experience in collection development. 
  • At least two years of progressively responsible experience in reference and adult services. 
  • Availability to work two evenings each week and rotating weekends.
