Description
Position Summary:
This position inspects, tests, and evaluates workplace environments, equipment, and practices as directed by the Safety Manager to ensure that they follow safety standards and government regulations and prepares written reports on their findings. This position implements workplace processes and procedures that help protect workers from hazardous work conditions. This position is responsible for managing safety protocols and works with the Safety Manager in educating and enforcing safety measures in the shop while maintaining CDI quality standards.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Hours are negotiable between 1st and 2nd shift
- See that all safety protocols are being followed according to CDI safety processes and procedures as well as OSHA regulations.
- Conduct required monthly and weekly safety inspections and/or testing and ensure all employees are wearing their PPE when working.
- Work with the Safety Manager on new training methods, safety procedures, and projects.
- Training employees on safety standards, protocols and procedures put in place for the safety of our shop and employees. Conduct all required quarterly safety training with employees.
- Passion for Safety and for Safety Metrics. Report any safety concerns or potential improvements to the Safety Manager.
- This position will also assist production staff as needed and must have experience in Welding, Operation of Machinery for Metal Manufacturing, or General Labor experience.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing safety processes and procedures
- OSHA 300 Training
