Job Description
Job Duties
- Support and assist the Health & Safety (H&S) Manager in developing and implementing safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Organize and conduct safety meetings for colleagues.
- Assist in incident investigations and analyze accidents, near misses, and hazardous conditions to identify root causes.
- Maintain/update/upload safety records, including incident reports, training materials, and safety data sheets.
- Collaborate with shift management and department heads to develop and update safety protocols and procedures.
- Conduct safety audits and risk assessments to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Enforce known safety and health rules.
- Provide daily follow-up on all safety incidents under investigation.
- Support in any emergency or security situations.
- Build colleague commitment and enthusiasm for safety through effective leadership and influence.
- Participate and/or run the Safety Pillar Team.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 18 years or older
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License
- Strong Organization and Communication Skills. Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, Sphera (Incident Tracking Database)
- Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc. with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Ability to work in elevated areas
- Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
