About XCEL
XCEL is an industry leader providing inspection, NDT, pipeline integrity, and related technical services to clients across the power generation and petrochemical sectors. Our success is built on our people—skilled professionals who deliver excellence, safety, and reliability in every project.
We’re looking for a driven Talent Manager who’s ready to hit the road, build relationships with our field teams, and champion employee growth, satisfaction, and retention across all XCEL locations.
Position Overview
The Talent Manager plays a critical role in strengthening employee engagement, retention, and career development across XCEL’s nationwide operations. This role is designed for a road warrior who enjoys connecting directly with field and office teams—someone who thrives in a high-travel, relationship-driven position.
The ideal candidate will understand (or be eager to learn) the unique challenges of the NDT, pipeline integrity, power generation, and petrochemical industries. You’ll partner closely with employees, supervisors, and leadership to ensure XCEL’s workforce remains strong, motivated, and aligned with long-term career goals and company needs.

- Conduct stay interviews and pulse check-ins to identify morale or retention concerns.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop retention strategies and initiatives tailored to field operations.
- Support employee recognition, engagement, and wellness programs across XCEL locations.
Career Pathing & Development
- Partner with employees and managers to establish clear career paths and development plans, including certification or progression opportunities in NDT and related fields.
- Identify training needs and coordinate with Safety, Quality, and Operations leadership to ensure ongoing skill development.
- Coach employees on personal and professional growth opportunities within XCEL.
Recruitment & Workforce Support
- Work with management to understand staffing needs and support recruiting strategies.
- Participate in the onboarding of new hires to help ensure a smooth transition and strong start.
- Promote XCEL as an employer of choice within the industry, supporting career fairs, training programs, and outreach efforts.
Field Presence & Travel
- Travel frequently (approximately 75%) to all XCEL job sites and offices.
- Serve as an on-site advocate for XCEL’s culture and people strategy.
- Provide leadership and feedback to strengthen communication between field employees and management.

- Proven success improving employee retention and engagement.
- Excellent communication, listening, and relationship-building skills.
