Description
Responsible for managing and ensuring compliance with international regulatory requirements for cleaning chemicals, coatings, and related products. This role focuses on global product registrations, labeling review, coordination with international vendors and sub-registrants, and staying current with evolving regulations to support company product stewardship and market access.
Requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities – International Focus
- Proof all product labels, literature, training materials, and digital content for compliance with international regulations such as EU REACH, EU Detergents, Canadian DIN, CFIA, CEPA, GHS, BPR.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance of warning statements, first aid statements, and safety data sheets (SDS) according to international standards alongside U.S. requirements.
- Monitor international regulatory agencies and market-specific regulations to identify product development opportunities and ensure compliance.
- Analyze and communicate international regulatory updates and requirements to senior management and internal teams, leading implementation of necessary changes.
- Manage coordination and communication for international vendor and sub-registrant compliance activities.
- Oversee compliance with international container testing standards and classification systems applicable outside the U.S. such as NAFTA chemical classification equivalencies.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge and management of international chemical phase-out regulations, including Nonylphenol restrictions in Canada and California as they relate to international markets.
- Respond to internal and external inquiries requiring international regulatory documentation and support.
- Attend international regulatory seminars, conferences, and workshops to stay current on global compliance trends and collaborate with trade associations and regulatory professionals.
- Support preparation of international regulatory affairs budgets and management of direct reports assisting with international compliance for Betco, Basic Coatings, and Bio-Systems product lines.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in international regulatory affairs in chemical or product manufacturing environments.
- Demonstrated knowledge of EU REACH, Canadian DIN, CFIA, CEPA, and other applicable international chemical regulatory frameworks.
- Knowledge of other regional or country specific requirements for India, Japan, Brazil, Australia, France, Korea and the Middle East is desired.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and regulatory database management.
