Overview:
The Project Engineer will provide technical support and coordination to ensure the successful planning and execution of construction projects. This role serves as a critical link between project management, engineering, and field operations, ensuring that project requirements are met with accuracy, efficiency, and quality. The Project Engineer supports all phases of the project lifecycle—from pre-construction planning to project closeout—by assisting with documentation, scheduling, procurement, and quality assurance.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Coordination and Documentation:

Assist in the development and maintenance of project schedules, budgets, and work plans.

Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents to support project execution.

Maintain accurate project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and meeting minutes.

Support the preparation of progress reports and project updates for internal and external stakeholders.

Project information is accurate, current, and accessible to all stakeholders.

Deliverables and reports are timely, complete, and compliant with Sure Steel standards.

Coordination processes reduce project delays and rework.
Engineering and Technical Support:

Collaborate with project management, fabrication, and field teams to ensure engineering requirements are clearly understood and implemented.

Identify and communicate design or constructability issues and propose effective solutions.

Verify material specifications and quantities in coordination with procurement and vendors.
-
Assist in reviewing shop drawings and ensuring alignment with design intent and project standards.

Design and field execution remain aligned, minimizing errors and cost overruns.

Constructability issues are identified early and resolved efficiently.

Project engineering standards are consistently applied across all deliverables.
Quality and Safety:

Support the implementation of quality assurance and control processes on assigned projects.

Conduct field inspections and assist with documentation of quality and safety compliance.

Promote adherence to Sure Steel’s safety standards and procedures throughout all phases of the project.

Procurement and Cost Control:

Assist in material takeoffs, procurement tracking, and cost analysis.

Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery and accuracy of materials and services.

Help monitor and forecast project costs to support on-budget performance.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
-
2–5 years of experience in construction or engineering, preferably in commercial or industrial projects.

Strong understanding of construction processes, drawings, and technical documentation.
-
Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
-
Proficiency in project management software, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
