As a Database Administrator, you will develop and support our Veterans United Home Loans database environment, as well as support the implementation of new technologies with respect to database requirements.

Here’s a snapshot of what you’d be doing:

  • Identify database performance concerns and resolve by leveraging, logging, and monitoring tools.

  • Address support tickets regarding database environments.

  • Collaborate with different units within Technology to help achieve an environment that meets current and future business objectives.

  • Work with Technology to ensure the highest reliability and performance possible in the database environment.

  • Create and maintain detailed database systems documentation.

  • Provide and design tools to assist with the management of the database environment.

  • Actively contribute to making the team and culture stronger by assisting with other duties as needed, excluding licensed activity.

  • 3+ years of experience developing complex SQL queries, scripts, and stored procedures

  • Strong knowledge of data architecture for designing schemas for OLAP and Transactional databases

  • Experience in administering and supporting business critical relational databases on MS SQL or MySQL

  • Proficiency with database performance strategies as well as tuning queries and processes

  • Familiarity with server administration concepts in a Microsoft Windows server environment

  • Strong knowledge of data warehousing and reporting architectures

  • Some development experience with, or exposure to, application development in .NET

  • 3+ years of experience using Microsoft SQL Server DBMS, with large, complex corporate databases

  • Proficient in basic computer technologies, appropriate for an internet-based company

  • Regular and predictable attendance
