Construction Technology Manager
Overview
The Construction Technology Manager is responsible for leading ATG’s Construction Technology Team, driving the adoption, optimization, and innovation of digital construction solutions that bridge the gap between field operations and digital workflows. This role oversees Technical Specialists on production, training, and implementation of Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Navisworks, BIM coordination, and other cutting-edge tools that enhance project performance, collaboration, and client success.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Management
- Manage and mentor Technical Specialists and Team Leads within the Construction Technology team.
- Conduct interviews, one-on-ones, and quarterly development plans (QDPs) to support individual and team growth.
- Balance team workload across billable project work, internal R&D, marketing, training, presales, and support.
- Oversee scheduling, PTO approval, and internal training/mentorship assignments.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and development of new team members.
Technology Implementation & Optimization
- Lead adoption and integration of Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), BIM 360, Revit, Navisworks, and other technology platforms.
- Develop, document, and standardize Best Business Practices (BBPs) for construction technology workflows.
- Evaluate and pilot emerging technologies such as AI, machine learning, IoT, and AR/VR to enhance efficiency and safety.
- Ensure smooth integration between technology tools, field operations, and project management systems.
Project Oversight & Quality Assurance
- Assigning effort, track project health, and meet milestone deadlines.
- Oversee scoping, QA/QC, and deliverable consistency for production projects to ensure they meet ATG’s quality standards.
- Coordinate kickoff calls with Sales to align technical expectations and client objectives.
- Provide technical oversight and troubleshooting support for ongoing projects.
Training, Mentorship & Support
- Design and deliver training programs for internal teams, clients, and partners focused on BIM, coordination, and digital workflows.
- Serve as a senior technical mentor for construction technology tools and processes.
- Ensure internal and client teams maintain high proficiency in ACC, Navisworks, and related platforms.
Business Development & Innovation
- Partner with Sales and Leadership to support pre-sales calls, technology demos, and client-facing presentations.
- Identify new service opportunities, partnerships, and revenue streams within the construction technology space.
- Stay current on industry trends, competitor offerings, and digital transformation opportunities to maintain a competitive edge.
Data Management & Reporting
- Develop data-driven metrics to track technology adoption, project performance, and team utilization.
- Ensure compliance, accuracy, and standardization of project data across systems.
- Provide regular performance updates and insights to leadership.
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in construction technology, VDC/BIM coordination, or digital project delivery.
- Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Revit, Navisworks, and related AEC tools.
- Strong understanding of MEP coordination, prefabrication workflows, and construction data management.
- Proven experience leading teams, mentoring staff, and managing multiple projects.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of Lean Construction, Agile management, and sustainability practices.
- Awareness of AI, IoT, and automation trends in construction technology.
