Monday – Friday 9a-5p



Pay Rate: $25.00/hr

Your Experience Matters

The Workforce Development Specialist is primarily responsible for educating individuals in the community on the Peer workforce career path, facilitating employment training of individual peers with substance use disorder. The Workforce Development Specialist will hold information sessions and conduct outreaches at local colleges and other locations on a regular basis to acquaint participants with potential peer positions and the skill sets required to attain such positions as well as the purpose of the Hudson Valley Peer Workforce Development Hub.



What You’ll Do

  • Outreach and develop relationships with colleges and universities in the 7 county Hudson Valley region. 
  • Conduct orientation and presentations to educate community members about the Peer services career path. 
  • Outreach and develop relationships with community-based organizations that host groups or events for individuals who have the potential to have an interest in exploring a career in Peer services. 
  • Assist individuals 1:1 navigate the Peer certifications as requested. 
  • Facilitate individual and group sessions and/or training focused on employment readiness.
  • Monitors and records participant and program data.
  • Assists participants in connecting with vocational support for which they may be eligible examples include- ACCES-VR, Commission for the Blind, DOL One Stop, College/ University Career Services. 
  • Conducts ACCES-VR orientations as needed. 
  • The above list of responsibilities is not intended to be all inclusive, other responsibilities and/or training may be assigned or required. 

Requirements

It Would Be a Plus if You Also Have Any of the Following

  • Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA).
  • Knowledge of services in Orange, Rockland, Dutchess, Ulster, Westchester, Putnam & Sullivan counties. 
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) or ASL capabilities.
