Position Summary
The Faculty Trainer is responsible for developing, coordinating, and delivering training programs that prepare instructors to effectively teach, engage, and support students in achieving academic and career success. This role ensures that faculty members meet institutional standards for instructional quality, compliance, and professional development in alignment with accreditation and industry expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and facilitate onboarding and ongoing professional development programs for new and existing instructors.
- Train faculty in instructional methods, classroom management, and the use of educational technology and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Conduct workshops on effective teaching strategies, student engagement, assessment techniques, and adult learning principles.
- Observe classes (on-site and online) to assess instructional effectiveness and provide constructive feedback.
- Mentor instructors to improve teaching effectiveness and student outcomes.
- Collaborate with the Directors of Education and Program Directors to identify faculty training needs and develop customized solutions.
- Ensure faculty are trained to deliver curriculum in compliance with accreditation, state, and institutional requirements.
- Assist in updating instructional materials and methods based on student feedback and program reviews.
- Support implementation of new courses or program changes by training faculty on content, standards, and assessment tools.
- Maintain accurate training records and faculty development documentation.
- Contribute to faculty performance evaluations through classroom observations and progress reports.
- Analyze faculty training outcomes and recommend continuous improvement strategies.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required Education, Instructional Design, or related field.
• Teaching credential or certification preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in teaching or faculty development, preferably in a postsecondary or career education environment.
• Experience with adult learning principles, curriculum design, and online or hybrid teaching.
• Familiarity with accreditation standards and compliance for vocational or technical programs preferred.
Skills:
- Excellent communication, presentation, and coaching skills.
• Strong organizational and analytical abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Learning Management Systems (Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard, etc.).
• Demonstrated ability to foster a positive learning and teaching culture.
