The Manager, Tax (HYBRID) supports the organization's tax compliance and reporting functions, including preparation of quarterly tax provisions and enterprise-level filings. This role ensures accurate tax accounting, conducts technical research, and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to maintain compliance and support strategic tax planning. This hybrid role will be based out of our BedQuarters location in Houston, with on-site training during the first month followed by remote flexibility thereafter.
Essential Responsibilities
- Prepare the quarterly tax provision under ASC740 under supervision of the Senior Tax Manager.
- Assist with compliance and advisory needs for enterprise related returns for federal and state.
- Research tax laws and prepare tax memorandums on technical issues.
- Liaise with outside tax professionals and/or government agents on tax compliance, tax accounting and tax planning matters.
- Reconcile tax accounts, and other computations as needed to support the tax provision.
- Ability to reason and effectively multi-task.
- Recognize complex technical issues, reach appropriate conclusions and apply appropriate technical authorities to support conclusions.
- Ability to organize and prioritize daily work responsibilities to meet deadlines.
- Ability to complete work in an effective and accurate manner.
- Complete all required training modules and certifications prior to the due date.
- Ensure all safety policies and procedures are followed to ensure a safe work environment for all.
- Communicate professionally with all internal and external contacts.
- Follow all Company policies and execute Company standards on appearance and functionality as well as appropriate brand representation.
- Communicates any concerns or issues to leadership to ensure proper efficiency of department and Company operations.
Non-Essential Responsibilities

- Contributes ideas on ways to optimize or improve the team, the department, and the Company.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree Accounting required.
- Master's Degree Accounting, with emphasis in Taxation preferred.
Professional Experience
- 5+ years tax accounting and compliance experience in public accounting or relevant industry experience required.
- Experience with tax provision and research software preferred – OneSource Tax Provision and Checkpoint preferred.
- Hands-on experience with preparation of all forms and schedules related to enterprise entities.
- Experience with various facets of state & local taxation, compliance & advisory, franchise and multi-jurisdiction income tax preferred (Experience in other than multi-state income/franchise is valued but not required. A base level of multi-state income/franchise experience is expected).
