    Salary Range: $49,479.56 - $98,587.95

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

      *  Kentucky Certification and endorsements appropriate to the technical program assignment.
      *  Successful and appropriate occupational expderiences and academic preparation approved and required by the Board and Kentucky Administrative Regulations
      *  Effective communication skills.

    DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

      *  Experience in a diverse workplace. 

    Requirements to be an Occupation Based Teacher:
    1. Applicant must be a US Citizen with a high school diploma or GED.  
    2. Four (4) years of successful and appropriate occupational experience in the teaching area. A maximum of one (1) year of the required work experience may be satisfied by completion of an accredited occupational preparation program for the occupation to be taught; and,  
    3. At least two (2) years of the occupational experience completed within the last five (5) years.
    Certification requirements:
    • Hold a professional teaching certification for the appropriate course code as listed under https://applications.education.ky.gov/SCCD/Home/Index
    • OR
    • Meet Occupation-based teaching requirements (see attached Occupational Based CTE Requirements and Hiring Procedures document)

    • Issuance of one year Provisional Certificate; completion of three (3) semester hours of credit in the occupational area OR successfully completing the New Teacher Institute (NTI).
    Please note: This position requires a Consultant certification (CA-27) in the area/grade span for which the certificate is requested. A minimum of 3 years teaching experience in the area/grade span is required by EPSB for the CA-27. Although the certificate is not required prior to being considered for this position, the CA-27 application will be initiated once a candidate is recommended for the position.
    Exceptions: A candidate with a Teacher Leader or Supervisor of Instruction endorsement can serve in any consultant role without additional certification.

    Additional training may be required.

    NOTE: Interested candidates must complete both the JCPS employment application AND the attached "CA-3 form.fill-in 3" document. Candidates should provide detailed information regarding all relevant experience and job tasks on this document, as it will be used to determine whether candidates meet the minimum requirements for the position and will be a factor in determining eligibility for experience credit. Candidates may use as many copies of the document as needed to capture all relevant experience.
