Qualifications
Required
- Master's degree.
- Five (5) years of experience in teaching, school counseling, supervision, or administration in a related specialty.
- Advanced degree(s) beyond the minimum degree requirement in a relevant field may be considered for some experience.
- Postgraduate educational license with endorsement(s) designated as appropriate to the assignment.
- Knowledge of Fairfax County Public Schools curriculum, instructional goals, procedures, and practices.
- Familiarity with instructional technology integration and assessment.
- Proficiency in the use of technology and data compilation, analysis, and reporting.
- Ability to plan, manage, and supervise programs and personnel.
- Ability to effectively lead teams in multiple projects.
- Ability to plan and conduct in-service and professional development activities.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with school staff, families, and the community.
- Ability to facilitate meetings and/or present information to groups.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Preferred
- Special education experience.
- Endorsement in administration and supervision PreK-12.

Major Duties/Essential Functions
- Supervises the planning, organization, administration, and management of out-of-school support, homebound instruction, and home-based instruction programs.
- Develops and evaluates programs and policies within a specialty.
- Plans, develops, and provides professional development and specialized training opportunities for community agencies, school system personnel, and families.
- Provides leadership, support, and programs/resources to meet state-mandated requirements and other compliance for homebound and home-based programs.
- Leads in the development of innovative service delivery models to provide instruction and continuous improvement planning.
- Manages data compilation, analysis, and reporting for evaluation and future planning.
- Tracks and monitors budgets, and provides recommendations and advice related to budget development and forecasting.
- Negotiates and/or manages contracts, grants, partnership agreements, and/or memoranda of understanding/agreements.
- May represent the Division in negotiating or facilitating resolution regarding matters of significance, especially related to compliance matters.
- Presents information and recommendations to the senior management team.
- Facilitates meetings with community groups, employee associations, or families.
- Performs related duties as required or assigned.
