Job Title: Assistant Slot Shift Manager
Department: Slot Operations
Starting Rate: $17.45 per hour
Reports to: Director of Slot Operations
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

SUMMARY: Assist Shift Manager in overall activities on assigned shift.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Exhibit a friendly, helpful and courteous manner when dealing with our guests and fellow associates.
- Required to learn and utilize Apple iPods and iPads with accompanying software known as “Kai” to ensure that optimum guest service is maintained.
- Oversee the staffs’ utilization of the ‘Kai’ system.
- Act as Shift Manager in his/her absence
- Assist in the supervision of Slot Attendants on assigned shift
- Assist Shift Manager with scheduling for assigned shift.
- Ensure compliance with company and departmental policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with SOP’s, and all other regulatory requirements.
- Approve gaming machine payoffs and fills in Shift Manger’s Absence.
- Interacts with other departments by exhibiting professional courteous outlook.
- Assist with development of work-plans.
- Assist with implementation of approved work-plans.
- Act as team leaders – motivating staff and ensuring their compliance.
- Attend regular team management meetings.
- Assist in the selection, interviewing and discipline of staff.
- Other duties as necessary by the Senior Director/Assistant Director to improve personnel and operational needs.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervises associates in the Slot Operations Department on assigned shift. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree (BA) from four-year college or university; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is frequently required to walk. The associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation. The position exists in a casino work environment where there is frequent and regular exposure of the associate to noise and cigarette smoke from the casino floor.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must obtain and maintain a New York State certification and St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Gaming Class III License which requires a criminal background check to be used solely for employment purposes. Successful candidates for employment must submit to and pass a drug test for illegal substances prior to employment being confirmed. In case of a positive result, the candidate is not eligible for employment with the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort. Employment will not begin until process is complete.
