Job Description Summary

A Clinical Specialist (CS) will drive the development and implementation of clinical and commercial education programs and trainings, with the main objective of increasing the understanding and application of our products to both internal and external stakeholders, to achieve company strategic goals. The CS will serve as a key clinical subject matter expert (SME) within the organization; therefore, they must be capable of working with people with varying degrees of clinical acumen, skill sets and personalities.

Responsibilities

·        Create and deliver commercial and clinical education programs for healthcare providers such as:  Physicians, NPs, RTs, and Sleep Techs.

·        Develop customer in-service training tailored to various healthcare provider audiences that include agendas, learning objectives, curated slides, various training mediums, and evaluations.

·        Create, drive and reinforce the importance of our internal training curriculums and utilization of approved external training tools.

·        Evaluate the effectiveness of customer in-services and modify content and delivery as needed to ensure effective learning outcomes. Communicate customer feedback to the Manager, Commercial Education, where needed, to ensure continuous improvement of ResMed educational offerings.

·        Present product and clinical applications to Resmed customers to increase knowledge on products and the latest information on respiratory and sleep disorders.

·        Engage in virtual and live, post-implementation product utilization training, and ongoing clinical customer education.

·        Perform engaging and compelling product demonstrations and presentations with a high degree of competence in all solutions.

·        Lead clinical education-centric calls and initiatives in support of product and solution launches.

·        Serve as a clinical resource to cross-functional teams, including Product Marketing, Provider Marketing, Customer Service, and Medical Affairs.

·        Provide consultative services, either virtually or in-person, in accordance with established clinical and regulatory policies.

·        Participate in, and at times, lead collaborative working sessions with cross functional teams to develop clinical and solution education, training, and resources.

·        Assess market and customer-specific education needs, working with internal and external stakeholders to deliver a strategic and positive educational experience.

·        Under the direction of the Commercial Education Manager, updates and maintains educational materials to reflect the latest clinical guidelines, research findings, and product advancements.

·        Abides by ResMed’s U.S. compliance programs and maintains compliance with team processes, including processing of field requests and tracking outcomes and metrics.

·        Exercise professional accountability of relevant product and clinical education by attending internal and external discipline calls, proactively seeking and identifying market and clinical updates, and participating in continuing education activities and conferences.

·        Remain current on reimbursement guidelines, market and customer dynamics, sleep industry trends and advances, and clinical practices and evidence in the homecare, physician care and sleep lab settings.

·        Assist with the evaluation and testing of products and provide feedback.

 

Qualifications and Experience

·        Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university preferred, or equivalent professional job experience with a focus in the health-related fields of Sleep Health and Respiratory Therapy.

·        Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in homecare, sleep laboratory or hospital experience required.

·       Certified Respiratory Technician (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and Registered Polysomnographic Technician (RSPGT). Current license or appropriate registration required.

·        Utilizes critical thinking skills to assess all pertinent information and take appropriate actions.

·        Able to problem-solve and effectively educate on the full spectrum of Sleep and Respiratory Care patient types.

·        Able to simplify the complex.

·        Ability to work effectively in a highly regulated industry, with attention to detail.

·        Demonstrated excellence in organization and time management skills.

·        Strong presentation and writing skills

·        Must be able to work independently, as well as in a team environment.

·        Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams and Power Point.

·        Ability to travel approx. 30% of the time

Individual pay decisions are based on a variety of factors, such as the candidate’s geographic work location, relevant qualifications, work experience, and skills.

At ResMed, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.  A reasonable estimate of the current base range for this position is: $105,000 - $140,000
